As the founding editor of the magazine, I created a sophisticated publication in a city still widely regarded as the center of bad taste. I was involved in everything from managing the budget and editorial calendar; to writing features and art-directing photo shoots; to coordinating with the design, production, and sales departments; to sourcing products and homes that consistently met my upscale vision. As the managing editor of this award-winning city magazine, I oversaw a team of writers and designers as we produced guides and stories on topics including dining, retail, art, politics, celebrities, and more. I also wrote a monthly first-person column in which I took emerging cultural trends—anything from high-end massage services to the popularity of knitting circles—and explored them locally.
